 Great things are happening in terms of education for the peoples of Chiredzi and the South Eastern Lowveld. Everyone can benefit because, now more than ever, we must strive to continually learn so that we can understand things for ourselves and help teach others. Education is definitely a life-long habit.
For example, Chiredzi can seem distant from the technological age that is encompassing the rest of the world. In fact, people are sometimes shocked that something like EWAY Chiredzi even exists. But because technology moves so fast, we cannot be complacent. If the rest of the world is changing from petrol/diesel vehicles to hybrid (half fuel/half electric engines) with the goal of totally electric cars will your mechanic still be able to work? This is not future science fiction—mass produced electric cars1 are already very common in some countries.
If your children have never experienced technology or don't understand how to harness and use these things, where will they work? For employers, technology means efficiency—fewer people doing the work of many. For employees, that translates to fewer jobs—especially if you're technologically challenged. Technology isn't just computers. Technology could be the mechanical harvesting2 and baling of crops such as cane or cotton. These things already exist.

Time and time Chiredzi has been known of producing exceptional, if not good, artists who would blow the whole country away.
In 2000 Kuligan & Kalabash dropped in the industry and took over the country with their famous hit 'Pukunyu' and then amazed the country again the following year with their hit song 'Sorry'.

Hello people, how are you today? Not bad I see. Well if it's a Monday I know you wish it was a Friday already, but why?
Over the years our fathers and our fathers' fathers also felt this way. They love Friday so much that they called it Faraiday meaning, 'happy day' and the trend still goes on from generation to generation. "What really happens on a Friday?", I asked.
"The week is done, no more school work, no more work work, it's time to relax and have fun on a weekend", they replied, but what they never told me was what happens on Friday nights.

 Where are the men in Chiredzi gathering? This weekend Lindiwe Mutape Chihuri hosted the ladies to an afternoon of good food, drink and sound advice on how to be a wife!
Lindi was looking beautiful in a sleek orange outfit and was accompanied by Mrs Gono. She was truly overwhelmed by the number of people who attended.

On the Move Against Tuberculosis |

 Thursday, 24th March 2011 is World TB Day.
We are entering the second year of a two-year campaign, 'On the Move Against Tuberculosis – Transforming the Fight Towards Elimination' whose goal is to inspire innovation in TB research and care.
Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious bacterial infection that is spread by inhaling the coughs, sneezes or spit of an infected person. Primarily TB affects the lungs, but is capable of spreading to other organs, such as the kidneys, bones or nervous system. A person may not experience symptoms until months or years after being infected.

Local Artist - Wellington Dhliwayo |

  Wellington Dhliwayo is an exceptionally talented fine artist based here in Chiredzi. He has been painting and drawing for over ten years and has sold many of his pieces to individuals all over Zimbabwe. Visitors to our country take great interest in his work.
Wellington was born in 1980 and grew up in Harare where he completed primary and secondary education before moving to Chiredzi. Favouring the use of oil paints and chalk pastels, his recent work is inspired by the natural settings, people and birds of Zimbabwe.
He dreams of establishing an Art Gallery in the Lowveld to promote regional art and craft to locals and international visitors.

Truly some people deserve to be spoilt just because they are. Mrs Matema is an inspiration to all who know her and the one thing that everyone says is she is always busy and always there for everyone else. This past weekend was hers to celebrate her life with friends and family – and she had no idea what had been organised!
