The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of OZHippo Valley Estates Primary School in Chiredzi presented it's annual end of year play — The Wizard of Oz — to a packed audience this last Friday evening, (28th October 2011). Growing on the successes of previous productions, the show was a huge hit and a highly enjoyable evening. The wonderful colour coordinated costumes helped with the flow of the story immensely.

The fun commenced with a number of singing performances by Grades 0 to 4, entitled, 'All the Colours of the Rainbow' and included those songs we all learnt at school from Baa Baa Black Sheep (Grade 0) to Lily the Pink (Grade 4).

The Wizard of Oz was performed by Grades 5 to 7 and eloquently narrated by the colours Red (Tinopi Gorejena), Orange (Rumwisai Chiwasa), Purple (Tadiwanashe Kadziyanyike), Blue (Takunda Kurakaraka), Green (Tracy Simonsen) and Yellow (Zanele Siziba).

A violent storm very dramatically sweeps away Dorothy (Kudzai Chigerwe), Toto (Gabriel Mugari) and their entire house. Flying right across the stage, the house came crashing down in the land of Oz and right on top of the Wicked Witch of the East. The Munchkins and Glinda (Vimbai Mahungana) present Dorothy with the late witch's ruby slippers and set her on the yellow brick road towards the Emerald City.

Chiredzi Business Forum and ZNCC

Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC)In Chiredzi recently, (25th October 2011), the Chiredzi Business Forum hosted the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC).

The ZNCC explained the benefits of membership and the services they offer to business. This was followed by an animated debate about the national economy and how the ZNCC participates in lobbying the government on behalf of business people and entrepreneurs.

The ZNCC was very impressed by the Chiredzi business community and also commented on the hospitality of the Chiredzi people. It was agreed that the ZNCC will operate within the existing structures of the Chiredzi Business Forum. This means members of the Chiredzi Business Forum will also be members of the ZNCC.

The game was tied at 1-1 after normal time after we failed to convert numerous chances. Fortunately the boys did not remove the foot off the pedal and scored twice in extra time to put the game beyond their opponents.

We meet Triangle United FC in two weeks for the semi-finals.

Importance of E-mail

EWAY Chiredzi often receives e-mails from people who want to work with businesses in the Lowveld. Unfortunately, if you don’t include an e-mail address in your EWAY Chiredzi Business Directory listing you will miss out on these opportunities. It's not cost effective for us to phone or visit your premises every time there is a query.

E-mail is the cheapest, easiest and most reliable method of making contact. That is why we have structured the Business Listing with an email link so people anywhere in the world can get in touch with you quickly and easily. The entire world is now a global market place.

Customers are always searching the internet for information, services and products such as yours. The question to ask yourself is, "if I am serious about business, why don't I have a web presence?" Lack of a computer is no longer a valid excuse. Many people are now able to access the internet from their phones in addition to the existing internet cafes.
