South Eastern College Public Speaking 2011 |
This year's Annual South Eastern College Interhouse Public Speaking competition was recently held on a chilly June evening—made even colder by the school's proximity to Chiredzi River.
A number of parents, guests and friends wrapped up warm for a most fascinating evening. Pupils prepared topics ranging from serious introspective views to humorously absurd topics. Most were well prepared, and others included props of various kinds. The adjudicators had a difficult time picking the most outstanding speaker!
Of special note were the students who introduced the speakers. Some should have been competitors themselves as they were flawless and kept their peers, parents and teachers well informed on the evening's program. Well done to all who made the evening such a success.

Judith, a young sixteen year old pupil from Okavango International School wrote this poem in commemoration of June 16th - Day of the African Child. It is touching and should be shared. To all other young people, be passionate about what you do, as you are tomorrow's leaders.
My dear African people; hear me out as an African child. I'm proud to say with vital ability and stability that this may seem like an informality. But today I'm proud to say once again. That June 16 is my day.

On Saturday 30th April 2011 Lindiwe Mutape Chihuri and Tungamirai Ndoda were married at New Life Church in Chiredzi.
The huge celebration was attended by both families, numerous guests, scores of friends and many church goers.
Lindiwe looked absolutely breathtaking in her perfect white dress, and was complimented by the groom in a very sharp, white suit. Tunga could barely contain his excitement during the entire proceedings and both were truly overwhelmed by the number of people who attended.
There was also the most unique wedding cake we've ever seen—a motorcycle, complete with rider, frosted to complement the colour scheme.
