Lowveld Agricultural Show and Trade Fair 2014

Lowveld Show SocietyWith only two weeks to go, Chiredzi's annual Lowveld Agricultural Show and Trade Fair will take place 4-6 September 2014. This year the Show Society has chosen the theme: "Revived and Focused for Growth", and has been working hard to live up to these words. With a number of improvements and a significant upgrade to the main arena, this year's show is expected to be one of the best ever.

There's something for everyone. A range of regional and international exhibitors will be in attendance to showcase their products and services to the business community. The Show is an ideal opportunity to promote your business, attract investors and meet new customers. In addition to activities located throughout the venue, the stage and main arena will feature some of the best in entertainment, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday evening.

South Eastern College Fantasia 2014

South Eastern College in Chiredzi put on an electrifying Fantasia show this year! The two houses, Tambuti and Mahogany battled it out on stage performing in a variety of categories. The set song was the Justin Bieber's "Pray" – which both houses did them extremely well. The choice song from Tambuti was "Lean on Me" and Mahogany sang "Swing Down". From the song and dance, to the skits and orchestra, the pupils managed to entertain the fully packed hall.

Lowveld Show 2013

Lowveld Show SocietyThe Lowveld Agricultural Show and Trade Fair 2013 took place from 5-7 September 2013. A whole host local, national and even international exhibitors were in attendance to showcase their various products and services.

Entertainment highlights included Congolese motorcycle daredevil and stuntman — Lobenzi; local and national performers; plus a huge fireworks display on Saturday evening.

Hippo vs Kings Score BoardThe 2013 National hockey league commenced on the 13/14th of April 2013 and the defending Champions were in no mood for mercy as they continued with their unbeaten run record. However, it was not the same for their counterparts, Huletts, as they agonisingly lost their first game before redeeming their lost pride in their encounter with Kings.

South Eastern College Excels at O and A-Level

Top Students at South Eastern CollegeSouth Eastern College in Chiredzi has achieved a breathtaking 81% success rate on their 2012 Cambridge IGCSE results.

In comparison to the poor performance from schools writing ZimSec O-Level exams where the national pass rate was only 18%, South Eastern College has set a new record at IGCSE. One student, Nyasha Zizhou achieved 10 A's, 9 of which are A*s and 3 others, Michael Nyamande, Ephraim Mwanda and Kluivert Bhunu hot in pursuit with 9 A's each.

At A-Level the School has produced 98% pass rate with the highest student attaining 13 points.

Hippo and Huletts Hockey Teams (2012 Season)

Hippo and Hullets HockeyThe 2012 hockey season marked a new era in the Lowveld as the two teams, Hippo and Hullets Hockey Clubs produced a stellar performance before engraving pieces of history on the hockey fraternity. Hippo Hockey maintained their dominance on the local scene by scooping all the accolades on the domestic arena and redefining the Zimbabwean hockey brand and further went on to register their artful return on the international scene. This resulted in them ending the season not only as the best in Zimbabwe, but fourth best team in Africa.

20 Twenty LogoThe vision behind the CAAZ cricket ministry has been well received by Chiredzi Government Primary School and some high school boys in the community. But you can only cut a pie into so many pieces. The coaching staff had such a great response that they saw the need to look beyond their limited resources by holding a beginner coaching clinic to empower more passionate coaches.
