Hippo FC 2

Hippo FC went on to lift the Sylvia Dube Trophy after dismissing AMC FC by 2 goals to nil at Gibbo Stadium on Saturday, 10th December 2011.

The Sugar Sugar Boys opened their account in the first half when Ronald Pfumbidzai flighted a corner kick to the blind side where Lawrence Khumbula nodded to set up Abel Machaka for the opener.

AMC were quite a determined lot and caused all sorts of anxious moments but failed to find the target. In the dying minutes of the game Codias Siwempi put the game beyond AMCs reach after some excellent work on the left flank!

In the 3rd and 4th place play offs, Triangle FC beat Mutare United by 2 goals to nil.

The Sylvia Dube Trophy for this year is being sponsored by Mr Cuthbert Dube (the ZIFA President) to the tune of US$65,000. The prize money for the various categories is yet to be finalised by the Eastern Region Board.
